LAST WARNING
NOTE TO GERMANY AGGRESSION MUST STOP ANGLO-FRENCH STAND (Reed. Sept. 2, 11 a.m.) LONDON, Sept. 1. The British and French Ambassadors in Berlin have been Instructed to • hand the German Government a joint note stating that information had been received indicating that German troops had crossed the Polish frontier and attacks on Polish towns were proceeding, and informing Germany that unless an assurance was given that the German Government had suspended all aggressive action, their obligations to Poland would be fulfilled. The Prime Minister, Mr. Neville Chamberlain, In the House of Commons, said: “If the reply to this last warning is unfavourable —and I do not suggest it is likely to be otherwise—the British Ambassador is instructed to ask for his passport.”
