ULTIMATUM TO SHIRE

“BORROWING MUST STOP”

COFF’S HARBOUR, Aug. 21

The Dorrigo Shire Council has received an ultimatum from the Coramba branch of the Commercial Banking Company of Sydney that if it requires an overdraft it must stop borrowing.

Otherwise, “the bank would prefer that the council should arrange its business elsewhere and pay us off.” The council decided to make immediate arrangements to transfer its account to Coff’s Harbour.
