The Flying Handicap, in, which there are 14 acceptors, includes Hybol 9.2, Aureus 3.7, BramoL 8.7, and Pearl of Asia 7.9. Canterbury Stakes for which there are six acceptors includes Gold Rod and Brazant 9.2, Mosaic and Royal Prince 9.0, Early Bird 8.9, and Beau Vite 8.0. The Canterbury Guineas has drawn seven acceptors all of which will carry 8.5, Dashing Cavalier, Tel Asur, Penthides, Marengo, Bonny Loch, BillpOster and Brown Bomber. Rioyal Chief has a fine turn of speed on the Randwick tan track to-day, registering 36isecs over three furlongs, accompanied by his stablemate, Moorsotis. Beau Repaire did a rousing mile in 1.45. Defaulter was let off with easy Work. The local horses, Gold Rod, Mildura, Reading, Tel Asur, Denis, The Kaiser, Hilarious and Malagigi worked impressively. Te Hero will not appear at the Canterbury meeting and this has caused some disappointment.
