HANDICAP GOLFING HONOURS DISTRIDUTED In addition to the Poverty Bay o'pen championship, won by H. D. Brinsden (Auckland), handicap and flight tournaments were completed on the Awapuni links yesterday, the honours being evenly distributed amongst players representing the various competing clubs. Crawshaw, 3 and 2. The morning bogey match was won by E. Jenkinson, who won on the count-back from J. L. Broad and C. O. Hansen, all three finishing 1 up. A four-ball bogey match in the afternoon was won by J. N. Williams and T. S. -Holmes, with a card of 5 up, W. D. Armstrong and R. Goodwin being second with a card of 4 up. The following players won prizes for “eagles” scored during the tournament. —H. D. Brinsden (2), J. L Broad, W. D. Armstrong, T. Corkery, P. A. Gavin, and N. H. Bull.
The trophies were presented to the winners -by the club captain. Dr. F. Kahlenberg. Brinsden. in his reply, commenting on the excellent condition of the course and the enjoyment which he had derived from his participation in the tournament.
