CONFERENCE CONTINUES (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. . Finality had not been reached late yesterday afternoon in the compulsory conference called by the Minister of Mines, the Hon. P. C. Webb, in an endeavour to settle the dispute which has' resulted in about 1000 men being idle in the mines in the Waikato district.

Representatives of the mine-owners and miners were present. The conference is being continued to-day.
