AMBULANCE DRIVERS

WOMEN INSTRUCTED SYDNEY, Aug. 18. More than 1000 women drivers enrolled for ambulance work under the National Emergency Services have been called up for driving tests on heavy vehicles by the N.R.M.A. Of this number a large proportion have completed the tests and are taking a course of mechanical instruction, consisting of a series of 12 lectures, followed by an examination. Those who are successful will be issued with a certificate, and registered as ambulance drivers with the chief warden of the district in which they reside.
