(Reed. Aug. 31, noon.) CANNES, Aug. 30. The Duke of Windsor has sent a message to King Emanuel of Italy, asking for his intervention in the cause of peace.

The Duke said that he fought at the side of Italian soldiers in the Great War, and by virtue of this association, he begged the King to use his influence to prevent a catastrophe.
