PETROL TAX PROTEST AUTOMOBILE ASSOCIATION (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, this day. In accordance with its recent protest regarding the increase of 4d a gallon in the petrol tax, the Automobile Association (Auckland) has circulated- its 33,000 members inviting (.heir co-o-peration in presenting a united front and raising a Dominionwide clamour for equality in the imposition of taxation. The circular also contains- a copy of the combined, protest already sent to the Prime Minister by the North Island and South Island Motor Unions. t “Consideration of the ways and means of obtaining relief from the overwhelming burden of taxation v'hich now rests upon road users of the Dominion is exercising acutely he administrators of organised motoring,” states the - association’s circular. “Whether or not a motor vehicle owner is a member, we wish ’to stress the fact that the strength and influence of the automobile association movement in New Zealand appeals for, practical interest and support in -giving volume and vehemence to the protest against the imposition of further unjustifiable class taxation just announced. “If you are in accord with the principle, you are urged to communicate at once with .the member of Parliament for your electorate and support the protest which has already been made ”
