Auckland. —Aug. 28: Arrived, Maunganu'i, 7.5 a.m., from Sydney; Sussex, 7.5 a.m., from Wellington. i Napier Appreciation Speaking from the stage at the Gisborne Competitions demonstration on Saturday night, Mr. S. P. Spiller, Napier, thanked the Gisborne people for their hospitality, particularly Mr. David Lee i'br offering in conjunction with his mother, to accommodate Hawke’s Bay competitors during Competitions week. This was done free of charge, and Mr. Spiller extended his sincere thanks for the generous action. He also expressed appreciation of Mrs. T. 11. Berry’s offer to accommodate any of the visiting competitors who had not made other arrangements. Mr. Spiller said he had paid a visit to the Waikanae Beach and was favourably impressed with the improvements made there.
