FIRST RESIDENT PASTOR

GISBORNE REVISITED The first resident pastor of the Church of Christ in Gisborne, Pastor Theodore Edwards, arrives here tonight from Auckland to take part in the twentieth anniversay celebrations of the opening of the present chapel in Roebuck road.

Pastor Edwards is the president of the Church of Christ conference in South Australia and editor of the

Challenge, a Church of Christ paper with a wide circulation in Australia and New Zealand. He arrived at Auckland yesterday by the s.s. Maunganui from Sydney, and was the guest of the Auckland Ministers’ Fraternity at a luncheon.

The pastor is revisiting Gisborne at the invitation of the congregation and will conduct an evangelistic campaign commencing to-morrow.
