The Pakura, which left Gisborne at 8.15 p.m. yesterday for Napier to continue discharging Lyttelton, and Wellington cargo, leaves Napier to-day for Waikokopu, thence Wellington. The ship is due at Wellington on Thursday afternoon and on Friday .and Saturday will load there for Napier and Gisborne, returning here early next week.
The Margaret W. leaves Auckland to-night for Tokomaru Bay, Tolaga Bay ana Gisborne. The vessel works here on Thursday, sailing the same day for Auckland. f The Wainui, which is loading for [Gisborne arid Napier, is expected to i leave Bluff to-day, Dunedin to-mor-row, Oamaru and Timaru on Thursday, and Lyttelton on Friday, thence Wellington. The vessel is due at Gisborne next Monday. THE WELLINGTON STAR The Blue Star Line has received cabled advice that its new motor ship Wellington Star has run 'her trials successfully, her average speed' being 19.8 knots. Built by Borland and Wolff, Limited, Belfast, .the Wellington Star's principal dimensions are: Length* over-all, 555 ft.; breadth, moulded, 70ft.; depth, moulded to shelter deck, 43ft. 4lin.; gross tonnage, about 11,400. She is a twinscrew motor ship of the shelter-deck type, finely modelled, and with a raked, rounded stem, cruiser stern, single mast, and streamlined funnel. Her propelling machinery consists of twin sets’ of two-stroke doubleacting Ilarland B. and W. Diesel engines. The cargo holds arc fitted with special insulation for the carriage of perishable' good's, including chilled beef, andi derricks of the most modern type will toe used for handling cargo. Accommodation is provided for 12 passengers in four single and four double-berth staterooms, with the necessary dining and- card-rooms and lounge.
