Ripple Chiffon Bridal Clown
On Saturday afternoon a wedding of widespread interest was solemnised at St. Abraham’s Church, Waipiro Bay, when Ena Grace, elder daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. J. Lee, Lenham, Kent, England, was married to George Alexander, third son of Mrs. Gillespie and the late Mr. W. iR. Gillespie, Claude lands, Hamilton. The officiating minister was the Rev. A. R. H. Morris, and Miss Kura Beale presided at the organ.
The church had ; been beautifully decorated by friends of the bride with jasmine, arum lilies and narcissi.
The bride made a charming picture as she entered the church on the arm cf her father. Her gown was of white ripple chiffon, with an underskirt of ivory satin. It was made with a pleated cross-over bodice, caught back and front with sprays of orange blossoms, and short sleeves and long while kid gloves were worn, while the full sun-ray pleated skirt fell into a graceful oval train, A necklace of pearls, the gift oif the bridegroom, also was >worn.
The embroidered tulle veil, Which had 'been worn by the bridegroom's mother, was caught to the head by a coronet of orange blossoms and was worn over the bride’s face on entering the church. A sheaf of tiny arum lilies and white rosebuds completed her toilette. Attendants on the Bride The bride was attended by her sister, Mrs. J. Edlington, Mangapoike Valley, as matron-of-honour, Miss (Margot Campbell, Gisborne, Miss Nola Huse, and Miss Gwen Gillespie, the bridegroom’s sister, both of iHamilton. The bridesmaids were dressed alike in aqua blue ripple chiffon over matching taffetas made on Empire lines, the very full gored skirts allied to pleated bodies with peaked waistlines and short puffed sleeves. The necklines were finished with violet flowers at the front and violet velvet ribbon streamers falling to the hemline at the back. They (wore violet anemone topnots and carried shower bouquets of purple anemones, irises and violets, The bridegroom’s eldest brother, Mr. Rollo Gillespie, was best man, and 'Mr. Peter Lee, brother of the bride, groomsman. The reception was held in the Waipiro Bay Hall, where the bride’s mother, Mrs. S. J. Lee, received the guests 'in a prune tailored suit with black accessories, and was assisted :by the bridegroom's mother, Mrs. ,W. R. Gillespie, wearing a navy pin stripe tailored costume with accessories to tone.
Mr. H. Williams was the M.C., and other speakers were Messrs. J. Campbell, B. Bradley, J. Brown, S. J. Lee. R. Gillespie, A. Gillespie and F. Patterson.
The handsome three-decker weddingcake had been made by the bride’s father.
After the Breakfast the happy couple leift on their honeymoon, the 'bride wearing a smart navy tailored costume, with navy accessories
In the evening an enjoyable dance was held, the music being supplied by Mr. G. Te Ruru, while Miss D. Conole and Mr. R. Gillespie contributed! extras. The Guest List
