MURPHY WINS THE JUMP
(Per Progs Association.) THE CHATEAU, last night. The Ruapehu Ski Club events, conducted on Sunday in conjunction with the national meeting at The Chateau, resulted:Ski Jump.—‘Murphy, 1; Hayward, 2; Wilson, 3. Langlauf, six miles.—R. Duncan, 19min. 43sec., 1; V. D. Hill, 20min. 30sec., 2; R. Ailson, 23min. 55sec., 3. Men’s Novice Race. —A. B. Odlin, 1; L. Collins, 2; H. Partridge, 3. Women’s Novice Race. —Miss H. McGregor, 1: Miss D. Harris, 2; Miss D. Sullivan, 3. Slalom, Men. —Brian Murphy, 1; Dr. Frank, 2; George Silk, 3. Women: Miss Pat Murphy, 1; Mrs. Ely, 2; Miss Eileen Hunter, 3.
In 'the ski jump, Murphy bad' the best style and length. E. J. Twigg, Palmerston North, was good, but had two falls. George Silk, Auckland, jumping for the first time, had good style and suffered' no falls, but his length was short.
