S. AFRICAN INVITATION

EMPIRE CONTESTS

(Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, tins day. The secretary of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association has received a latte: from the South African association that it is considering inviting teams, of athletes and cyclists to ton- the Union m 1941 from Great Britan, Australia, Canada and New Zealand.

There will be five and not more than eight matches of which at least two will be tests All expenses from the point of assembly to the time the teams return will be met by the South African association, and the team would comprise from' eight to 10 members.

The letter will be considered by the council early next month.
