RESCUE FROM HARBOUR

ELDERLY WOMAN SAVED FATAL COLLAPSE LATER (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, this day. Found floating in the water alongside the steps of Queen’s wharf on Saturday, Mrs. Rose Hannah Ninncs, aged 74, Newton, was rescued by two men and rushed- to the Auckland Hospital where resuscitation methods already begun on. the wharf brought her to consciousness.

However, on Saturday night, she suffered a collapse from which she did not recover and died.

An inquest was opened and adjourned. A craneman, S. Webb, told the police that as he was alighting from the crane on the wharf, he noticed what appeared to be a bundle floating on the water. With another man, he secured it.
