TWO VIEWS OF THE SCENE OF THE GAS EXPLOSION NEAR ST. PAUL’S CATHEDRAL, London on August 4, in which over a hundred casualties occurred. It was caused by a fractured gas main due to a subsidence in Godhman street, a thoroughfare between St. Paul's and Queen Victoria street. Several buildings in course of demolition collapsed, and in St. Pauls Cathedral and in the Church of St. Donets, a Welsh church, windows were broken, and widespread damage to surrounding property was done.
