ENFORCEMENT DEFERRED NO PRESS CENSORSHIP (ißecd. Aug. 25, 3 p.m.) LONDON, Aug.. 24. The Home Secretary, Sir Samuel Hc'are, in a statement, said the Government does not propose to issue the emergency regulations in the course of a few days unless the situation is very much worse. There will I’oe no press censorship or suppression of public opinion until the country is involved in hostilities. The Emergency Powers Defence Bill will not interfere with the labour dispute. The powers the Government have sought will .be 10 times more extensive than the powers taken in 1014 because of air warfare.
The Ministry of Labour, after consultation with the associated locomotive engineers and firemen, declared off the impending strike on Saturday.
