ACTION IX BERMUDA

(Reed. August 26, 1.30 p.m.) OTTAWA, August 25

The Canadian Defence Minister, Mr. lan MacKenzie lias cancelled all -leave for the permanent forces representing 4000 in the army, 3000 in the air force and 2000 in the navy service.

A report from Hamilton (Bermuda) says that a state of emergency was proclaimed after an Act was rushed through the Legislature, granting the acting-Governor, Major A. Dutton, full powers of Government.
