POLAND’S CONDITIONS <• ATTEMPTS ON DANZIG BUSH OP DEFENCES SHELTERS AND TRENCHES WARSAW, Aug. 25. (Reed. Aug. 26, 11.50 a.m.) Government newspapers publish identical inspired articles setting out the grounds on which Poland would go to war. They are: (1) Any attempt to re-unite Danzig With the Reich. (2) The exclusion of Danzig from the Polish customs frontiers. (3) The submission of Polish rights In Danzig to a third Power.
(4) The deprivation of Danzig Poles of their rights of national development.

As. a result of an overnight appeal frotn the 'Mayor of Wlarsaw, volunteers began at dawn on a large-scale construction of shelters and trenches. Prohibition is enforced, except .the consumption of the lightest ales.
The country’s first trial iblack-out was held at 'iPoznan, which will be darkened each night until further notice.
