CHEERY DANCE

TE KARAKA OLD STUDENTS COMPLETE SUCCESS (Herald Correspondent.) Complete success attended the : bright and cheery dance held by . members of the Te Karaka District High School Old Students’ Association in the Waikohu Hall on Tuesi day evening. Arranged as a finale to the annual reunion dinner, there was a happy ■ /gathering of approximately 200 ‘j people, the majority of whom were past and present students of the • school. The supervision of the 'floor was , carried out efficiently by Mr. H. Lennane and music for dancing was provided by Miss L. Ruru's orchestra. enjoyable extras being contributed by Miss D. Scholium and Mr. H. Lennane. The supper room looked very attractive with appropriate decorations in blue and gold, the school colours, and a dainty suppe r was served by committee members. Among those present were:—Mrs. ■ A. W. Moverley, wearing sage green ■ self-spotted cloque, with a rose pink • velvet coat Mrs- J. G. Appleton, , mulberry georgette inset with lace; , Mrs. M. Hodge wore a frock of green fiat crepe with shell pink trimmings, and a black velvet coat; Miss N. Coates, black lace with a scarlet posy at the neck; Miss E. Castles, del blue spangled net and while fur cape; Miss J. McKenzie, white sprigged organdie; Miss L. Ruru, green figured crepe-de-chene, and a bottle green velvet coat with fur trimmings. Miss M. Smithers, sprigged hailstone muslin; Miss P. Johansen, pink net over taffeta, and blue velvet cape; Miss B. Thompson/, cerise tinselthreaded georgette with sequin trimmings; 'Miss F. Mills, pink velvet and nut-brown coatee; -Mis® G. Newin.g, blue floral taffeta; Miss' E. Pevreal, opal shot taffeta; Miss R. Ruru, purple chiffon with gold accents; Miss R. Cox, mulberry tinsel cloque: Miss D. Hynes, petunia self-patterned taffeta. Miss M. Pevreal wore a frock of royal blue crepe romaine; Miss E. Tuapawa, primrose georgette and blue shoulder posy; Miss R. McCauley, lime green embossed sheer over taffeta; Miss J. Clayton, shell pink Swiss muslin; Miss P. Mills, pink shot taffetas; Miss K. O’Donoghue, blue face over satin; Miss K. Cameron, tomato brocaded satin with blue corsage spray; 'Miss N. Newin-g, mauve taffeta with mauve flowers on the bodice. Miss E.
