MATAWHERO STOCK SALE FAT SHEEP HIGHER ■Late rates were maintained in the Store sheerp section at the Matawhero stock' sale to-day, while the best values in the .fat sheep section were a shade higher than those of the previous sale. Beef The I'at cattle yarding comprised two cows, which sold as follows.—One good average finish black cow, £4 10s; 1 plain Jersey cow, £3. Fat Sheep The entry of fat sheep totalled approximately 400. The top values were higher than last week. Most of the ewes made from 16s to 20s, with a few at 11s 9d and 13s lOd. Wethers ranged from 17s 7d to 19s sd. Hoggets varied in weight, making 11s 9d to IGs Gd. Second-grade ewes made higher values, selling at 12s 2d and 13s Bd. Prices: — Ewes.—Twenty-eight, 15s 2d; 15, 18s 9d; 9,12 s Gd; G Southdown, 16s; 25, 17s; 5,16 s 4d; 21, 20s; 9,16 s; 23, 17s; 10, 18s 8d; 24, 17s 2d: 10, 17s Id; 24, 11s 9d; 28, 13s lOd; 6,17 s Gd. Wethers. —Seventeen, 17s 7d; 10, 18s 3d; 4, Southdown, 18s Gd; 7,19 s sd. Hoggets.—Thirty-one, 11s 9d; 11, woolly, 14s; 8, IGs Gd. Second-grade Ewes.— Thirty-two, 12s 2d; 8,13 s Bd. Store Sheep There was a moderately sized yarding of store sheep, consisting generally of hoggets. Late rates held. Top lines of hoggets made from 14s to 15s, with fairly good round about 11s. Ewe hoggets brought to 18s lOd for first class and 15s and 15s Gd for fairly good; empty ewes, fairly good, 6s 6d to Bs. Ewes and lambs ranged from IGs to 17s Gd. Prices: —
