WARNING SHOTS FIRED
POLISH BATTERIES NAZI BOMBING PLANES (Reed. Aug. 25, 9 a.m.) LONDON, Aug. 24. The Warsaw correspondent of The Times says that the Polish version of the plane incident is that warning shots were fired at German bombers. A message sent on Wednesday from Berlin stated that the official agency alleged that Polish anti-aircraft units fired on three German passenger planes over the Baltic Sea, in the vicinity of the Polish Corridor. .The attacks were described as [ insolent acts of lawlessness by “Polish pirates.” An 'lndependent Cable... Service message from Warsaw stated that the Polish Government denied that German air-liners were fired on, and described the German, report as a pure fabrication.
