Dr. M. A. F. Barnett has been appointed a member of the Carter Observatory Board for a period of two years, according to a notice in the Gazette.

‘Mr. Hector Nome, an erstwhile scholar of the Gisborne High School, a son of the Rev. A. H. Norrie, Westmere, Wanganui, has been appointed to the Wlvareponga Native School, Waipiro Bay. He is taking up, his duties at the beginning of the term. His wife has been appointed assistant. The following have been appointed members of the Town Planning Board for a period of three years, according to a notice in the Gazette last night: Messrs. F. W. Furkert, F. E. Greenish, E. V. Blake, T. Jordan, W. Marshall, S. Blackley, and J. W. A. Heenan. In addition, the board also will consist of the Minister of Internal Affairs, who is chairman, the Director of Town Planning, the Surveyor-General, the Engineer-in-Chief of the Public Work r Department, and the Government Architect.
