BRITISH RAILWAYMEN MINISTER MAY ACT (Reed. Aug. 23, 3 p.m.) LONDON, Aug. 22. Owing to the failure to secure the minimum wage of £2 10s weekly for employees, the Associated Society of Locomotive Engineers and Firemen is planning to withdraw all labour from the foul- main line group railways at midnight on Saturday. Delegates to' the conference of the National Union of Railwaymen, representing 30,000. decided not to participate in a strike, but to again submit the claim for a £2 10s wage to a national tribunal. There is no cooperation 'between the society and the union.

The Ministry of Labour is likely to prohibit the withdrawal of the workers, who number 56,000, in view of a possible national emergency.
