ATTACK ON AUCKLAND EXERCISES NEXT WEEK (Per Pros Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. Exercises similar to those Held off Wellington Heads recently in which the army and air force co-operated in repulsing a naval attack will be held at Auckland next week. This was -announced last night by the Chief of the General Staff, MajorGeneral J. E. Duigan. He said it was probable the exercises would be held on Monday. Major-General Duigan added that the new battery on Montutapu Island would -be manned by regulars and territorials, and a long-range shoot with live shell would be carried out. Shooting would be a towed targets at a range of approximately 18,000 yards. “I will be present at the exercises and it is probable that the Chief of Naval Staff, Commodore 11. E. Horan, and the Chief of Air Staff, Group Captain H. W. L. Saunders, will attend also,” said Major-General Duigan.
