CANTON ISLAND TAKE-OFF

ARRIVAL ON TUESDAY

(P«r Press Association.) AUCKLAND, this day. News of the take-off of ithe Californian Clipper from the harbour at 12.45 o'clock ‘this afternoon was flashed to Auckland from Canton Island, the first stop on the flight. The giarut Boeing plane carrying a crew of 11 arid 12 United States Government and Pan-American Airway’s officials who will inspect bases, is due at Auckland on Tuesday afternoon unless it is decided to prolong the stops at the bases.
