FLIGHT OF CAPITAL
'LONDON GOLD LOSSES SILVER HOARDING RUSH (Independent Cable Service. ) (-Reed. Aug. 24. 1.30 p.m.) -LONDON, Aug. 23. The Financial News says that the flight of capital from -London yesterday is estimated at from 50 to 75 iper cent heavier than on Mc«day. The gold losses of the Exchange Equalisation Fund accounts, which are believed to be the heaviest for any day in 1939, are estimated at £6,000,000. There is a new hoarding rush for silver, which has stimulated the biggest price rise for years. The (pou’nd has remained rigidly held.
