AIR MAIL SURCHARGE
AUSTRALIAN INTENTION SERVICE OVER TASMAN (Reed. Aug. 24, 10 a.m.) CANBERRA, Aug. 24. Tiie Prime Minister, Mr. R. G. ,Menzies, has announced that the Government has decided to retain the existing surcharge on the . Empire and internal air mail services and has ialso decided that a similar suri charge will be imposed on the air mail carried on the service when it is inaugurated. The air mail rates at present imposed are 3d per half-ounce surcharge, plus 2d per half-ounce postage. t:.:'
