SALVAGE OF SUBMARINE

ZELO BEING REFITTED PREPARATIONS FOR LIFT (British Official Wireless.) Reed. 9 a.m. -RUGBY, Aug. 23. The Liverpool and Glasgow Salvage Association has issued a statement on the salvage of the sunken submarine Thetis. “The work of refitting the salvage steamer Zelo is proceeding according to plan,” the statement says. "The Zelo will Ibe ready to sail to the scene of operations on Thursday. Some days will elapse after the Zelo’s arrival before preparations for lifting the submarine are completed. “His Majesty’s diving ship Tedworth and the association’s steamer Ranger have left Liverpool for the scene of the operations. Their work will be to clear away the wire and debris round the submarine which has impeded the work of divers.”
