BADGE WORK IN PROGRESS SEA SCOUTS’ OUT IXO By “Scoutcr” At present the work being clone by she two town tr.cc-ps comprises tenderfoot, second class, first class and proficiency toscVje won:. At Mangapapa last week, besides the usual test work, Arnold Ball and Gilbert Bull completed their tenderfoot, except one 'test. Noel Lewis and Bruce McLoughlin have two parts to pass before completing 1 lie same test. The patrol leaders of this troop are doing very good work.

The Y.M.C.A. Troop are down to hard work, the second class .being on various tests, while the first class are doing mostly signalling and fieri aid work. The Y.M.C.A. Pack are having two weeks’ holiday. A Day On the River The Sea Scouts also are making hay v/Hiie the sun shines, for last Monday, with their boat recently overhauled and painted, they had a clay’s outing on the river. The weather did not turn out ‘too well, for it rained very hard soon after they embarked. However, there was no turning back, and although the weather continued showery a good time was spent. An amusing incident occurred over the lunch. Everything was laid outsandwiches and cake stacked here and there, milk and sugar, and even boiling water; but where, oh where was the tea? Far, far away! That part did not, of course, affect the appetites of the Sea Scouts. Rover Crew The Rover crew has made very satisfactory progress during the past month. Much ground has been covered in revising elementary work, and this has proved very interesting. Several outings during week-ends have been very successful, and many more are t.o be arranged.
