SURVEY OF BASES SYDNEY SUGGESTION (Recd. Aug. 22, 1.50 p.m.) SYDNEY, Aug. 22. The aviation writer of the Sydney Morning Herald says that aviation authorities in Sydney believe )Lhat the flying boat Aotearoa, now on the way from Southampton to Sydney and Auckland, could be more usefully employed on a survey of possible island bases throughout the Pacific than on the suggested trial flight between Auckland and America a route already surveyed.
