CHARGE OF FORGERY SPUMOUS NOTES IN GAOL

(Reed. Aug. 22, 2.50 p.m.) LONDON, Aug. 21

A message from the Isle of Wight states that Horace Stone, a convict in Parkhurst prison, was committed for trial on a charge of forging bank notes in gaol. It was stated in evidence that the prison authorities found photographic material in Stone’s cell and also negatives and prints of 10s and £1 notes.

Frederick Caplin, a warder, was fined £5 for conveying photographic material into the gaol. It was stated that he kept Stone supplied with hypo and paper.
