Waikato River in Flood
Heavy rain and the melting snow on the high country have resulted in the Waikato River rising 6ft. within the Hast week, and Saturday’s level was the highest reached this year. Parts of the • river path at Hamilton were flooded, while the swamp areas near Mercer were covered to a considerable dayth.
