PACIFIC FLIGHT

PAN-AMERICAN PLANE START NEXT TUESDAY (Pbv Press Association.) AUCKLAND, this day. In announcing the schedule for the first Pan-American flight since the tragic loss of the Samoan Clipper last year Mr. Harold Gatty said today that the giant plane, California Clipper, would leave San Francisco on Tuesday next and fly to a schedule which would bring her to Auckland on Tuesday, August 29 He emphasised the fact that the flight was essentially for survey purposes by • the company’s representatives and the United States Govcrnmenit observers to report on the new bases at Canton Island and Noumea. If the officials desired to stop longer at any base their wishes would be net and thus the schedule might be altered.
