(Elec. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.)

(Reed. Aug. 19, 1.45 p.m.) WASHINGTON, Aug. 18

After his evidence before the Dies Committee which is; inquiring into un-American activities, the German American Bund leader, Fritz Kuhn, told .the press that the members of the committee had 1 as good as destroyed' their political careers by attacking the Bund. The committee then called to the stand Helen aged 17 years, a member of the Bund's youth move-, merit, who recited in full detail alleged immorality existing in various camps and aboard! vessels en route to Germany when members of the youth movement visited Herr Hitler. The witness .then explained the general purpose of the movement in the United States. The Bund was to open camps, buy property and form German settlements, she said. “Then when Germany offers to aid us, we can say that here we have a German majority and we want to be part of Germany . . • The Bund leaders always found fault with the United States Government. They said it was controlled by a minority, namely, Jews, and was not taking care of the other races.”

The girl further testified that the youth movement leaders preached that a “girl should not be ashamed of having an illegitimate child if its father was German.” They also taught that President Roosevelt “had a streak of Jewish blood in him.” While in Germany the bund youths were given a demonstration by a physician on charts as to how sterilisation was to be performed because “the day might come in the United States when the information would be useful.”
