FAMILY FAREWELLED

MR. & MRS. 0. E. BAR-TRAM (Herald Correspondent.) There was a good attendance at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. F. W. Shelton, Tolaga Bay, on Thursday afternoon to bid farewell to Mr. and Mrs. O. E. Bartram and the Misses J. and H. Bartram. Colourful rockeries made a suitable background for the lawns, and the panorama of the bay made a charming picture. A delicious afternoon tea was served 'by Mrs. Shelton and Miss K. Mclntosh, who were ably assisted by the Misses J. and K. Mclntosh. Mr. J. McNeil, oni behalf of those present, wished the family all the best of health and happiness in their new home in Gisborne and commented on what a loss their departure would' be to Tolaga Bay. Mr. McNeil made presentations to members of the family. Mr. J. B. Morris commented on the hard and tedious struggle it had been for Mr. Bartram to make a home for himself when he first came to the coast.

Mr. Bartram, on behalf of his wife and daughters, thanked all for their kind wishes and gifts and said he would really miss the Coast. He commented on the progress Tolaga Bay had made since he first arrived here 50 years ago. Competitions were won by Mesdames A. J. Reid and D. R. Mather - son, and Miss Y. McDonald. Among those present were Mr. and Mrs. R. Bartram, Mr. and Mrs. K 1 Bartram, Mr. and Mrs. A. Cranswick, Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Tempest, Mr. and Mrs. F. McNab, Mr. -and Mrs. F. J. Herbert, Mr. and Mrs. H. Irving, Mr. and Mrs. A. Warbdrton, Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Taylor, Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Thornton, Mr. and Mrs. V. Curry, Mr. and Mrs. B. R. Page, Mr. and Mrs. N. F. Benham, Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Morris.
