ARREST AT MOTUEKA
MISSING AUCKLANDER FALSE PRETENCES CHARGE (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, this day. Two constables from Motueka went to a fniit farm about two and a half miles from the township efrly yesterday morning and arrested Eric Stanley Watts, aged 35, insurance agent, who disappeared from Auckland on the afternoon of March 10.
Watts admitted his identity. He will appear before the Motueka Police Court on a false pretences charge before he is brought to Auckland. The, mysterious disappearance of Watts has occupied the attention of Detective Slater throughout the past five months. Watts’ car was found on Saturday, March 11, in a parking area between Queen’s Wharf and Princes Wharf. He had not b?en seen
since the previous Wednesday, March 8, when he left the office where he was employed to keep a business appointment at'Waimauku. In the car were found Watt’s hat and some insurance documents, but nothing to indicate he hacl met with an accident,
