PRETTY WEDDING

MORAN—KING SPRING- FLOWER SETTING A pretty wedding was solemnised in St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Ccloden street, on Saturday, when Doreen Thelma, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. W. King, Rutcne road, was married to Daniel Joseph Moran, Gisborne, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Moran, Tiniroto,

The ceremony was performed by the Rev. F. Thompson, and Mr. Irvine Moore presided at the organ.

Delicate spring flowers, artistically arranged by friends of the bride, formed a picturesque setting for the bridal group, and white bows were attached to the ends of the pews in which the guests were seated.

The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a lovely frock of heavy magnolia satin showing a rucked vestee terminating in a cowl neckline, and bishop sleeves caught at either wrist with a satin bow. Tiny bows also ormamented the bodice from the neck to the waist at the back, and the skirt, cut, with a graceful train, just revealed magnolia velvet and satin shoes. An exquisite veil of flimsy net appliqued in satin, loaned by a" friend, was held in place with a halo of orange blossom, and a sheaf of arum lililes was carried. The bride’s only ornament was a cross studded with pearls. # Charming Frocks

The bridesmaids, Miss Joan Eaton and Miss Olwyn Graham, were charmingly frocked in rose pink and spring green georgette embossed in a leaf design in silver and gold respectively. Each wore a halo and belt of matching leaves and shoes to tone with her frock, a shower bouquet in delicate shades of pink and green‘completing the ensemble.

The duties of best man were carried out by Mr. E. Hays, and Mr. S. T. Turnbull was groomsman. .

After the ceremony a delightful reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents. The wedding breakfast was served at tables beautified with spring flowers in soft shades of pink, intermingled with greenery, the handsome ivory-tinted cake making an effective centrepiece on the table of the bridal party. The customary toasts were honoured. • The bride and bridegroom left later on a camping tour of the north, the bride wearing a jade green model frock, with hat and shoes to tone, and a grey fur coat. Mrs. King, mother of the bride, wore a smart nigger brown model frock, with a hat to match and a fur-trim-med brown coat.

Mrs. Moran, mother of the bridegroom, was wearing a graceful navy blue frock, and a hat to tone.

A becoming navy blue tunic frock and a matching hat were chosen by Mrs. A. Agnew, sister of the bridegroom.

The bridegroom’s present to the bride was a silver tea-service, and to the bridesmaids rhinestone necklets.
