TOURNAMENT CONCLUDES itaka competition (Sjjccinl to tho Herald.) WAIROA, this 'day. By defeating Tapuae (Wairoa) by two goals to nil, the Kahungunu (Mohaka) ladies’ hockey team annexed the Lady Carroll Cup in the final of the Maori hockey tournament, which was completed in Wairoa on Saturday. In the final of the men’s section. Kahungunu (Mohaka) beat Y.M.P. (Hastings) by one goal to nil. Playing in the ladies’ section on Saturday afternoon, Wairoa 1, beat Hastings 0, while in the men’s fixture Hastings 2 beat Wairoa 1. The men’s haka competition, held in the ISir James Carroll Memorial Hall, resulted in Kahungunu gaining first place, with Waipapa runners-up, while in the ladies’ competition Y.M.P. gained first place and Kahungunu filled second place. The Carroll Memorial Shield for combined ladies’ and men’s haka, was won by Kahungunu.
