SATISFACTORY GALLOPS

N.Z. HORSES IN SYDNEY

ROYAL CHIEF SHOWS UP

(Eli*<*. To). Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Reed. August 21. 9 a.m.) SYDNEY. August 20.

No recently-arrived New Zealand horses participated in the Moorefield races on Saturday, but Royal Chief. Peerless. Te Hero and Beau Repaire worked most satisfactorily on the tracks.

Royal Chief showed no sign of his leg trouble, and had to be hold back In a six-furlong gallop with Olympus. Royal Chief’s time was 1.211. Beau Repaire moved freely over three furlongs and is expected to be a handy performer in the coming three-year-old events. Peerless had a good deal in hand in a seven furlong gallop with Beau Vile. The latter's gait afterwards suggested lameness, and his spring prospects do not appear bright.
