SCHOOLS BOXING
MARI ST BROS.’ TOURNEY DRAW ANNOUNCED The thirteenth annual boxing tournament conducted by the Gisborne Marist Brothers’ School will be held in the Opera House to-morrow night, 31 bouts being listed' for decision. Both present and past pupils of the school will take part in the bouts and two bouts are to be held for the old boys championship. At the last New Zealand amateur championships two national titles were won by ex-pupils of the school, both Darcy Heeney and Bill Shaskey 'being old boys of the Marist School. There will be no final in the old boys’ championship and the winner of what is adjudged the best bout will be declared the title-winner.
The draw is announced as follows: Flyweights.—E. Hoggins v. M. McMahon; P. Proudfoot v. B. Naden . Bantamweight.—R. Bcaufoy v. T. Curtis; B. Connop v. B. Shandley; R. Beaufoy v. P. Neill; B. Sheridan v. P. Jeune; N. Aylward v. C. Scanlon. Featherweight.—P. Nicol v. L. Shiel; K. Blane v. E. Nelson; N. Harris v. G. Thomson; J. Quinn v. T. McCarthy; P. Shandley v. L. Neill; I<. Murphy v. T. Knox.
Lightweights.—B. Ballantyne v. T. French; H. Alley v. E. Quinn; L. Lovie v. IT. McCoach; M. Neenan v. P. Shone; L. Parker v. L. Blane. Welterweight.—R. Moles v. B. Hollis; R. Martin v. L. Shaskey; E. Callaghan v. F. Raggett (Welterweight Belt).

Trophies will be awarded to the best lightweight boxer, the gamest loser, the most scientific boxer and the champion boxer from the entrants from the Convent School. Officials have been appointed as follows: —Referee, Mr. W. Rickard; announcer, Mr. 11. B. Gardner; timekeepers, Messrs. C. McCoy and J. Vennell; gong steward, Mr. R. Patty; lion, surgeons, Drs. W. A. Bowie, IT. Colliding Rice and A. Murray Scott; glove stewards, Messrs. R. J. Quinn and M. O'Brien; seconds, Messrs. L. Winstanley, D. Heeney, IT. Duckworth and Rob Thomson.
