WAGES ON RAILWAYS
RISE NOT JUSTIFIED
POSSIBILITY. OF STRIKE (Reed. Aug. 15, 2.20 p.m.) LONDON, Aug. 14. The four main railway companies told 1 the National Union of Railwaymen that the present financial position did not justify an increase in the minimum- wage.
Tire union is calling a conference. The possibility of -a strike cannot be ruled out.
