Prevention of Erosion

With a view to preventing erosion in a number of localities in the Cook County a gang has been engaged on planting work, particularly in the W.aimata and Panilsau districts, to overcome the worst cases of erosion in those localities. The county engineer, Mr. K. F. Jones, submitted a report on the maltiter to the council meeting to-day, and stated that planting also had been carried out adjoining the Matawhero bridge.
