ROBBERY UNDER ARMS

HASTINGS SERVICE DEPOT RAIDERS LOOT TILL FIGHT BY ATTENDANT (Per Press Association.) HASTINGS, this day. In a desperate struggle with two young men who attempted an armed hold-up Of a service station in Karamu road, Hasting at a late hour last night, Albert Arthur Wilson suffered head wounds necessitating medical attention and the insertion of a number-of stitches. Mr, Wilson, who was alone in the office, answered the door to find two young men standing in the yard outside. One suddenly produced a revolver saying: “This is a,stick-up. We want your cash.”

Mr. Wilson was forced back into the office and told to unlock ' the drawer which contained the till. One of the men struck him over the head with a blunt instrument when Mr. Wilson endeavoured to gain possession of the revolver.

In the desperate struggle which ensued the office was almost completely wrecked inside. Mr. Wilson dragged the men into the yard, at the same time calling loudly for help. The men eventually broke free, leaving Mr. Wilson On the ground.

The cash from the till was taken.

All the available detectives and constables were summond for an extensive man hunt which is in progress.
