Wairoa Third Grade Rugby

High School were declared the winners of the third grade competition at a meeting of the Wairoa Rugby Sub-Union last evening.— Special.

Recreational Week Tlie co-ordination of winter sports in a 'recreational week was proposed in a circular from the Minister of Internal Affairs, the lion. W. E. Parry, read at to-day’s meeting of the Cook County Council. The proposed dates for the week were September 29 .to October 7, and it was hoped that both indoor and outdoor sports bodies would co-operate, together with choral, musical and, hobby shows. The council referred the matter to the recreation committee already set up, suggesting that the committee should discuss the proposal at a meeting to be held this month.
