Big Publicity Campaign

TOMMY KELLY was the hero ' (victim?) of the biggest worldwide publicity campaign since Tom Mix could ride. Thirty thousand boys were tested by David Selznick to be Tom. Sawyer in a colour film.

They found Tommy on the sidewalks of New York. His father was unemployed. They took both of

them to Hollywood; gave dad a job on the Selznick studio police and Tommy a seven-year contract.

Tommy was the idol of every filmstruck kid in the world. Now dad stilt nas his nightstick, but Tommy's lost his contract. Since "Tob Sawyer” he's had one film, a "Peck's Bad Boy" ’serial, nothing more.
