WAIROA CLUB MEETS

VIST OF N.Z. SECRETARY

(♦Special to the Herald.) WAIROA, this day.

There was an attendance of 40 members at a meeting of the Wairoa Young Farmers’ Club on Monday evening, the chairman, Mr. D. G. Wilson, presiding. The Manawatu district committee wrote accepting the invitation for a return Rugby match between the two clubs, to be played in Wairoa on Wednesday, September 20. The sub-committee set up to report on the proposed holding of a rodeo advised that it considered the project practicable, and a strong committee was formed to make all arrangements and proceed with the organisation of a rodeo, which probably will be held on Labour Day. The Dominion organising-secre-tary, Mr. S. Freeman, was in attendance, and addressed the members on the organisation and progress of the movement. He stated that at piesent ‘here were 205 clubs in the Domin:on, and altogether the movement was making excellent progress and was fast becoming a recognised force throughout the country. Mr. Freeman screened talkie films of educational interest, the programme lasting for nearly an hour and a half.
