INCREASE IN TAXATION
NEW SOUTH WALES BILL SPREADING OF BURDEN (Elec. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Reed. Aug. 15, 10.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, Aug. .15. .'The Premier of New South Wales, Mr. A. Mair, said yesterday that legislation to provide for increased taxation to compensate for the reduced revenue would be introduced immediately Parliament reassembled next week.
“The public will be asked to dip rather deeply into their pockets, but everything possible will be done to distribute 'the addifiionajl taxation over a very wide field,” he said.
