GAMING HOUSE RAID

YOUNG WOMAN CHARGED

Detectives mounting a ladder from the street to a verandah top in Broadway, Palmerston North, attracted no little public attention. Quickly the officers raised an upstairs window and disappeared inside a building. Later an outside door leading to the lootpath was opened from inside and other members of the force entered.

There was a sequel later, when three young women appeared before Mr. R. E. Cousins, J.P.. charged with Doing found without lawful excuse in a common gaming house. They were remanded to appear before the court again on Monday, bail being allowed /n tlie sum of £5 each.,
