VICTORY FOR TIMARU

SOUTHLAND DEFEATED

(Per Press Association.) TIMARU, this day. Timaru Boys’ High School defeated Southland Boys’ High School in the annual Rugby match yesterday by 12 points to six. The game was productive of bright football in patches, bad handling spoiling many opportunities for both sides. Though defeated, the visitors had the territorial advantage, and it was not till the closing stages that Timaru gained the upper hand and scored two tries to put the issue beyond doubt. The visiting forwards were prominent in the loose and serums, but Timaru was snpenor in lme-out play. Weenink, McKenzie and Houston scored foi Timaru, and Hornbrook kicked a penalty goal. Ward and. Potts scored tor Southland.
